There is no reading order for the mangas really, you mostly just need to finish the Main Series and then read in whatever order, Most of the manga are adaptations of novels and games, and most of them arent that good, i would heavily reccomend you read the novels and play the games as the mangas are usually downgrades and are unfinished. If you just want to watch anime there’s no alternative, but if you want to properly understand it, playing the game is the best option.

  • Notes - Not really a Fate work but does contain important Fateverse plot elements super optional but usefulĪlso, I really wouldn’t recommend the Grand Order animes as an entry to FGO (except maybe First Order?) because they only adapt the last few chapters.
  • Fate / Requiem - Only a novel so far, unrelated to FSN and most other works.
  • Lord El-Melloi II Case Files - Follows the events after Fate / Zero (kind of) that focus on the magecraft side of the Fateverse takes place right before FSN.
  • Fate / Extra + Extella - An entire group of games with (often not actually the same story) manga and anime adaptations that has its own group of timelines, much like SN.
  • Prisma Ilya - Magical girl spin-off that actually later introduces important plot elements to the Fateverse at a large.
  • Fate / strange fake - Like FA, mostly unrelated to FSN timelines but still pretty interesting.
  • Fate / Apocrypha - Mostly unrelated to the FSN group of timelines but useful for introducing a bunch of Servants that show up fairly regularly like Jeanne d’Arc and Astolfo.
  • Fate / stay night (2004, Studio DEEN) - The original original Fate anime that should be watched before UBW but is kind of out-of-date in terms of art and animation.
  • That being said, I thought a bunch of the other Fate works could be included somewhere. This is pretty good and simple! I like the pinned one at the top of this subreddit too, but this is better as a “quickstart” kind of guide for people who don’t want to read too much.
